為貫徹落實《國家通用語言文字法》，進一步加強中文譯名規范工作，建設良好的語言文字應用環境，在征求相關專家學者意見的基礎上，外語中文譯寫規范部際聯席會議專家委員會決定繼續組織開展國際組織的譯名規范工作。
2014年9月29日，外語中文譯寫規范部際聯席會議專家委員會審議通過了《第三批推薦使用外語詞中文譯名表》。本表所列共22組外語詞及其中文譯名，均為媒體使用頻率較高，社會知曉度、通行度較好，譯名使用穩定的聯合國組織機構名稱。提供規范統一的國際組織機構譯名，有利于順利開展國際經濟文化交流活動。外語中文譯寫規范部際聯席會議專家委員會推薦在社會生活各個領域，使用規范的外語詞中文譯名。
